The Challenge
The client required a unitised curtain wall that could achieve a U-value below 1.8 W/m²K without sacrificing the transparent, floor-to-ceiling glass facade specified by the architect. The site's exposure to extreme summer temperatures (up to 45 °C) added further complexity.
Our Solution
We supplied our TB-60 thermally broken aluminium system with structural silicone glazing on the external face. Double-glazed units with low-e coating and argon fill were specified. All extrusions were mill-finished and powder-coated in RAL 9006 to match the architect's vision.
The Outcome
The project was completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Post-occupancy measurements confirmed a 34% reduction in cooling load compared to the previous benchmark, earning the building a GRIHA 4-star rating.
